Jubilee Kitchen: Commitment to Community Award Recipient

In March 2025, Gemini recognized Jubilee Kitchen with its Commitment to Community Award, celebrating nonprofits making an exceptional impact in their communities. Jubilee Kitchen received a $10,000 donation to support its mission, nominated by Excel Signworks for its dedication to combating poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity among individuals and families. 

Founded in 1979, Jubilee Kitchen has long been a source of hope and support in the Pittsburgh community. The organization offers programs centered on food access, job readiness, and employment opportunities, helping people take meaningful steps toward stability and independence. At the heart of their work lies a profound belief in the transformative power of stewardship. As Pittsburgh’s only 365-day soup kitchen and comprehensive support center, they meet immediate needs while building foundations for lasting change.

Examples of this include: 

• Serve breakfast and lunch daily, with takeout meals available, and operate two food pantries providing nutritious groceries 
• Offer essential services, including showers, clothing, and hygiene items 
• Provide emergency assistance for housing and utilities 
• Guide families through their Path to Self-Sufficiency program 
• Connect guests with job opportunities and interview preparation 
• Offer high-quality, affordable childcare through their 4-star-rated center 
• Foster a welcoming environment where everyone is treated with dignity 
• Partner with 30+ service providers to ensure comprehensive support 

Following the announcement of their selection for the award, Jubilee Kitchen shared their gratitude: “Thank you, Gemini, Inc., for your support of Jubilee and helping us serve those most in need. Your support helps us feed the hungry and clothe the naked.” Jubilee Kitchen plans to use the funds to further its mission of helping those in need. Part of that effort includes their Renewing Hope, Rebuilding Lives Capital Campaign, which supports the design of a new space to expand programs and offer more complete, wraparound support.  

The Commitment to Community Award, launched in 2023, reflects Gemini’s core value of stewardship, extending that value through their partners by allowing them to nominate the nonprofits that matter most to them. This initiative embodies the essence of Gemini’s vision—successful partners, engaged people, thriving communities.

In 2025, Gemini’s award committee reviewed over 160 nominations, selecting three standout finalists. Online voting then determined the recipient of the top award. The two runners-up — Fund a Life, nominated by First Impression Print & Marketing, and WINGS, nominated by A Dog’s Solutions, LLC (AlphaGraphics) — each received a $2,500 donation in recognition of their impactful work. 

Fund a Life expressed deep appreciation for the honor: “Thank you so much for this recognition of which we are extremely honored and humbled by! On behalf of our entire team and mission, thank you to your entire organization for this wonderful opportunity!” 

WINGS also shared their gratitude for the recognition and support, highlighting the importance of Gemini’s role in uplifting communities: “On behalf of the women Texas WINGS serves, we are humbled and honored to be considered for this generous gift! A million thanks to the Gemini family for your commitment as servant leaders, impacting the least served across our nation’s communities.” 

All three finalists reflect the spirit of community stewardship and upliftment. Jubilee Kitchen’s recognition highlights the powerful role nonprofits play in renewing hope, rebuilding lives, and making a lasting difference.
