Enriching Our Communities | Gemini’s Annual Contribution Program

Gemini Team Members Giving Back: How Our Contribution Program Strengthens Our Communities

At Gemini, giving back isn’t mandated from our leadership team, it’s driven by our team members. Through our annual employee contribution program, team members can give company dollars to the local organizations and causes they care about most, creating real impact in the communities where we live and work. This is one way we bring to life the Thriving Communities component of our vision, supporting strong local networks where people and families can flourish.

Empowering Team Members to Support Local Needs

Rather than focusing on a single corporate charity, Gemini’s contribution program invites employees to champion nonprofits, churches, and community groups they personally know and trust. Recent examples span food security, faith communities, and outdoor recreation—showing just how diverse our team’s passions are.

Each featured contribution is a $250 donation, presented in person by the team member who selected the organization. That structure does more than send funds; it creates a direct connection between Gemini, our team members, and local leaders who are doing the work on the ground. By empowering team members to influence these efforts, we ensure our giving reflects the real needs and heart of each community, an important part of building thriving communities from the inside out.

Meeting Community Needs: Food, Housing, and Hope

Several recent contributions highlight how team members are helping neighbors facing hardship.

Jay More, a team member in our Customer Experience department, directed a $250 contribution to his church in support of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, which operates thrift stores and food pantries throughout the Twin Cities metro area. The organization provides rental assistance, homelessness prevention, disaster recovery, and charitable pharmacy services—delivering food, clothing, housing support, and healing to individuals and families with nowhere else to turn.

Michael Short, another member of our Customer Experience department, chose to support the Kenyon Food Shelf in Kenyon, Minnesota, after learning about a local program that lets residents round their utility bills up to benefit the food shelf. “I see the need,” Michael shared. He delivered Gemini’s $250 contribution in person and reflected that it was “a great experience to donate and connect with the people who work there.”

These gifts may look modest on paper, but they help sustain essential services that keep families fed, housed, and supported—especially in smaller communities where every dollar counts.

Investing in Community, Connection, and Belonging

Our employee-directed contributions also support organizations that build community, provide safe spaces, and nurture a sense of belonging.

Manufacturing Specialists Leo Henriquez and Gutenberg Castro each directed a $250 contribution to St. Bridget’s Postville Catholic Church, with Foundry Engineer Supervisor Victor Acedo presenting the check on their behalf. St. Bridget’s serves its community by promoting Catholic faith through sacramental life, offering educational programs, and responding to local needs. By supporting this work, Leo and Gutenberg helped strengthen an institution that many families rely on for spiritual, educational, and social support – another meaningful expression of thriving communities in action.

Jenny Jandro, another Manufacturing Specialist presented a $250 contribution to the Cannon Falls Sportsman Club, a nonprofit that has served outdoor enthusiasts since its founding in 1957. The club operates an indoor archery range, hosts card nights, offers firearm safety training, and rents its clubhouse for community gatherings. Originally established as the Oxford Sportsman Club and later merged with Cannon Valley Archers, the club continues to bring people together around shared interests and outdoor skills.

These gifts show that community can mean many things—a church, a food shelf, a sportsman club—but in each case, a Gemini team member is helping keep those spaces strong. Together, these efforts reflect our belief that thriving communities are built through everyday acts of generosity, service, and connection.

Looking Ahead: Many Small Actions Lead to Collective Impact

When dozens of employees across our North America locations consistently direct support to organizations they know are making a difference, the impact adds up in powerful ways.

Through our employee contribution program, Gemini channels that impact where it matters most—into local food shelves, faith communities, recreation clubs, and service organizations that are on the front lines of strengthening neighborhoods. Supporting our communities is a key part of our stewardship core value, and this program is one way we live out in tangible ways.

And as our team continues to identify new opportunities, we’re excited to see how many more stories like Jay’s, Jenny’s, Leo’s, Gutenberg’s, and Michael’s we can help write in the years ahead, advancing our vision of thriving communities, one contribution at a time.
